Preparing baby supplies for your next baby
Once you've had a baby for the first time you'll have come to realise that the most costliest of expenses isn't the unexpected hospital stay, extra painkillers or C-section surgery. Its not that new baby crib, nor is it from all those unpaid leaves trying to get to and from the hospital on time. For the most part the most expensive part of having a baby are the baby supplies.

All the milk, baby formula, diapers, baby clothes, socks, mittens, caps, blankets, strollers and other baby supplies are the most costliest part of having a baby. Sure, the baby itself more than makes up for it but even before you've begun buying all of these expensive baby supplies, you can plan ahead and prepare for the next baby, especially if you intend to have more than one, saving you mega moolah in the long run.

The very first thing you have to do is get a couple of nice and big storage boxes that will keep well. One could be for the clothes and the other could be for blankets, mobiles and other odds and ends. The second thing to do is to start buying baby supplies that are unisex or those can be used for both genders. While its not bad to see a baby girl in blue its completely non-unisex to see a baby boy in frilly pink dress with a bow tie so if you can go for neutral colours like white or some of the pastels.

You don't have to stop from getting those frilly bow tie dresses though, just make sure that most of the clothes you get now can be used again, because if all things go well, your baby isn't going to need any of those clothes you got him or her for very long. Put these clothes into one of the storage boxes and make sure that its protected from the damp or moths (I'd suggest against mothballs inside the box but its entirely up to you).

Baby supplies such as toys, plushies and mobiles also keep well for the next generation, so keep these in the other box. Don't throw things away just cause they don't fit any more; shoes and baby carriers in good condition fit this category. Make sure there is some form of protection against the damp, mould and moths. While there is always the eventuality that you and your spouse might change your mind or divine intervention has it that you'll only be blessed with one child, there are bound to be other children coming along the way, either from your brother, sister or other relatives. What you have prepared for will definitely come in handy for the next child regardless if it is your own or someone else's.
