Feed Your Child with Homemade Organic Baby Food
Some parents might be skeptical about feeding their children with homemade organic baby food as it seems quite unusual and a little bit ‘sophisticated’ for such a young person. However, according to Pediatrician Elizabeth Knapp, MD, it can be really beneficial for young children to consume organic baby food, especially those under the age of two as baby brains are still in development and are developing at a rapid rate while the organs tend to be more sensitive. Knapp added that good nutrition is important at any time because its helps build a body that will sustain a child for the rest of his or her life.

Since most mass-produced commercial foods contain pesticides, it can be really hazardous to anyone’s health, especially children. Pesticides have been known to have a connection with an extensive range of health problems which include endocrine and immune systems disorders, reproductive problems, lung disease, and cancer. Numerous researches have also shown that organic food intake leads to better health and lifestyle. Knapp reiterated that even if you only pick one type of food like the organic sweet potatoes to make homemade organic baby food, it’ll reduce the exposure for your child which is good.

Nowadays, there are plenty of organic baby food choices readily available on the market. Most licensed grocers and retailers would normally carry several brands of commercially-prepared organic baby foods which have been certified by USDA. Dr. Knapp reminded parents to always read the list of ingredients in organic baby food to make sure that it contains acceptable levels of salt or sugar. Meanwhile, if you prefer to make your own organic baby food, that’s even better. Not only will it be much healthier and cleaner, you’ll also save a lot on your budget.
If you’re still new to all of this, why not try some basic and simple flavorful organic baby food recipes on your own? But remember to make sure that the ingredients you’re using are chemical and pesticide-free (otherwise it can’t be called organic).
